"After my girlfriend and I looked at numerous homes, we finally found a house that had virtually everything we were looking for. The house appeared to be in good shape so I didn't expect to hear of any major issues. To put it simply, I was wrong. This home comes with a Service One warranty and they just passed an inspection on the furnace last month. Greg found a crack in the heat exchanger that was obviously missed! Greg also noticed some major issues with the chimney for the wood-burning fireplace as well as some issues with some of the concrete. These are just a few of the issues found! Now I see why a home inspection is so important. If you're looking for an inspection, look no further!!! I have yet to start negotiating with the sellers on these issues, but regardless of what happens, he saved me a lot of trouble and money down the road!!! "I was looking for a good home to perform inspection on my house that kept giving me water stains on the ceilings everywhere. Then I found Greg on Google Review. I couldn't believe all 35 reviewers gave him 5 stars…. I was thinking “This guy must be typing up some of these reviews by himself…” But then when I checked his website and saw some of his sample reports and photo galleries, I was convinced that I was gonna be in good hands. Sure enough….he proved that I made a right decision. Like other reviewers said, his inspection was thorough and honest, and he found LOTS OF ISSUES that existed even before I purchased home 5 years ago that were not found by other inspector that I hired at the time. During his inspection, not only he found the cause of water stains, but also found 3 cracks in the heat exchanger, which could pose us dangerous life threatening situation by blowing out Carbon Monoxide. Shame on me… I didn't have too much knowledge about CO, I had no idea what was so urgent when he told me not to use the furnace and to call Service One immediately, who serviced the furnace a month ago and didn't even find cracks. He talked to the operator on my behalf to address the urgency, and also stayed until technician arrived. He explained the risk of exposure to carbon monoxide in the terminology I can understand (I'm not from this country and not very good in English). It was after 5pm on Friday, 12/23/11, right before Christmas. I'm sure he wanted to hurry home to spend the rest of the day with his family but he stayed until he completed transferring the file of his inspection report to the flash drive, and addressed the issues of heat exchanger to a Service One on-call emergency technician (note: Service One already had closed their office for the holiday when I called before 4pm so my call was placed as an emergency service and service technician didn't arrive until 5pm). He gave me the inspection video report on flash drive before he left and typed up summary report for major issues and recommendations the very next day. He was very professional, personable and brutally honest. I wish I knew Greg 5 years ago when I bought my house.
