New construction inspections: Attic issues on video

2. attic access hatch is located in the wrong location with inadequate clearance

The City Code Department's Inspector passed this new home on the Final Inspection. These issues were surfaced afterwards during my home inspection. Issues like these are too commonly found and are why you need to have your new construction homes inspected by a Certified Home Ispector prior to close. Don't take the Builder's salesperson's word for it that just because the house passed all of the City's inspections that there shouldn't be anything wrong. I hope they are right, but all too often that's not the case.

Builder's and sub-contractors make mistakes. It's a great investment for you to hire your home inspector to come in as a fresh set of eyes to check things over.
